Biografie
Max Levy, born in Tokyo, trained at the renowned San Francisco Ballet. As a dancer, he was engaged by the American Repertory Ballet and Charlotte Ballet, and as a soloist with the Staatsballett Nürnberg under the direction of Goyo Montero until 2017. He has danced numerous roles by choreographers such as Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Christian Spuck, Cayetano Soto, Goyo Montero and Jeroen Verbruggen. He was awarded "Most Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer" by Dance Europe in 2015.

His choreographies have been presented through Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm, saasfee*pavillon, Staatsballett Nürnberg, Freier Tanz im Delta Festival, ACUD Theater and Performing Arts Festival Berlin. His work has won awards at 32nd International Choreography Competition Hannover, RIDCC 2019 and Gdansk Dance Festival, and was selected as "Best Dancer" at SOLOCOREOGRAFICO 2017. He was an inaugural resident at ChoreoLab - Made in Ulm as well as regular resident with Tanzplattform Rhein-Main/Staatstheater Darmstadt/Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm. His choreographic films were also finalists at the Giessener Auftritte, TANZAHOi Hamburg and Rollout Macao film festivals. Levy lives in Frankfurt and works as a freelance dancer and choreographer. He regularly teaches professional training at the Tanzplattform Rhein-Main and is a guest lecturer at the HfMDK, where he introduces a meditative approach to sports and movement-oriented work.
